ABOUT NETAINE

The history of Netaine dates back to an early dialup service created by our founder in the 1980s. With the invention of the world wide web and the rapid growth of the internet, this became an IT consultancy.

The name Netaine is a portmanteau of the word "network" and the name "Aine". Áine is the Irish goddess of sovereignty, wealth and summer, often represented as a beautiful woman with red hair. The name Áine is normally pronounced awn-ya and spelt using what's known as a fada, though to keep things simple we just write and say "Netaine".

Over the last few years we've found ourselves frustrated with the poor technology choices available to businesses and consumers. The initial excitement and rapid progress of the 1990s and 2000s has been replaced by a few large tech giants offering mediocre products which often appear designed to lock in customers or harvest personal data.

The issues caused by having to guide businesses and staff through this maze of services, many of which we feel are unfit for purpose or which may have GDPR or other privacy concerns as well as business continuity and security risks, has meant that over the last few years we've needed to design and build our own customer solutions.

These services are now available under the name Netaine.
